When Audi announced that production of the RS6 Avant was coming to an end, everyone at BOTB was genuinely sad to see one of the all-time great performance estates bow out. So, what better way to bring it back, than as a modern classic! The RS6 is the ultimate example of Audi’s ability to combine supercar performance with family-car practicality, offering a huge boot, space for the whole family and quattro four-wheel drive in one seriously rapid package.
Looks-wise this is one of the most aggressive Audis around, with a wide stance, huge air intakes, a blacked-out grille and blistered wheel arches. At the rear there’s a subtle roof spoiler, a chunky diffuser and the signature pair of large oval exhausts, while massive alloy wheels complete the unmistakable RS look.
Inside you get all the latest Audi tech and kit, with a huge standard spec list including heated sports seats, a digital Virtual Cockpit, dual touchscreen infotainment displays, ambient lighting and plenty of RS-specific details.
This model gets 592bhp from the 4.0 litre twin-turbo V8 petrol engine, going through all four wheels via an 8-speed Tiptronic gearbox which gives astonishing performance – 0-62mph taking just 3.6 seconds on the way to a 155mph top speed – while you can expect around 20mpg. It may be a practical five-seat estate, but the RS6 is a proper supercar slayer.
